Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Hormigueros Romeros and Juncos Valencianos.

With right fielder Adrián Salcedo leading the charge, the Hormigueros Romeros defeated the Juncos Valencianos, 5-3, at Coliseo de los Valencianos. Salcedo, who is rated as the 98th best prospect by BNN, went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Eusebio González was the winner. He's now 12-12. The loser was Arquímedes Márquez.

Hormigueros used a well-timed hit by Gualberto López to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Romeros ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

López said his team "played with focus."

With the victory, the Romeros upped their record to 57-45.
